Melting Wax Island is the story of Benjamin, a first-grader who decides one day to make the morning drive to school a bit more interesting. Melting Wax Island also features the artwork of Delray Beach artist Michael Blumenthal, as Levine and Blumenthal chronicle the adventures of Benjamin and his friend Gabby as the drive to school each day becomes a new adventure through fantastical islands. Along the way, they meet some colorful creatures. Children will love the colorful pictures and imaginative story, while learning the days of the week in the process.
